Picture

Kristin Burrell, M.A., CCC-SLP

Kristin is originally from the Midwest, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Michigan State University and Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Western Michigan University. Before moving to Boulder County and joining KidSPOT, Kristin and her family called San Francisco home where she had a private practice and consulted in various clinic, home, and school-based settings. In addition to being a practitioner, she has supervised graduate level students in their clinical fellowship year and co-authored a paper in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research. Kristin is trained in and enjoys working with a broad range of communication disorders and specializes in early language development. She was introduced to the DIR/Floortime model early in her professional career and it has shaped her understanding of developmental language and how she adapts treatment to each student’s profile. She also integrates her professional training in Talk Tools, Hanen More Than Words, SCERTS, Kaufman Speech to Language, Spalding Literacy Program, and PROMPT to provide an individualized, developmentally-based intervention program for each child and their family. Making meaningful progress and staying motivated is paramount and that means having some fun too!
